24th October 2016 - Extraordinary Meeting.

Dear Members and friends of OxNA,

In the 8 year’s since it was established, OxNA’s Board of volunteer’s have worked tirelessly on behalf of our membership. In doing so OxNA has succeeded in evidencing the need, making some significant changes and improvements in the quality and accessibility of local services and advocating on behalf of those affected by neurological conditions.

Sadly, the numbers of those volunteers engaged in a practical capacity with OxNA has declined. At this time of such unprecedented change in health and social care, the Board feel the efforts of the individuals left are being ever more thinly spread. As such, without any increase in membership and capability it is unlikely that OxNA will be able to continue to function as intended. It is therefore the intention of the Board to hold an extraordinary meeting to consider the dissolution of the organisation on Monday 24th October 2016 at Headway Oxfordshire (4 Bagley Wood Road, Kennington, Oxford) at 2pm.  A letter will be sent to all members and membership organisations outlining this intention.  Should any interested party wish to contribute to this meeting they would be welcome to do so.

Jamie Miller (chairman)

Welcome to Oxfordshire Neurological Alliance

We are affiliated to and support the aims and objectives of The Neurological Alliance which brings together national, regional and local neurological charities. By speaking with one voice we can pursue the highest standard of service and care for the estimated 2.5 million people in the UK significantly affected by a neurological condition, their families, carers and other interested people. The Neurological Alliance

For individuals affected by a neurological condition we aim to have access to high-quality, joined up and appropriate services, with good relevant information from early diagnosis and throughout their life.
